ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES-MERCER COUNTY administers Federal and state programs for: those ages 65 and older, blind, and/or disabled (as defined by the Social Security Administration); those in need of Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (TANF); and the USDA Food Stamps Program. These Programs include Medicaid, child care and cash grants. Customers may now access an online application for Cash, Food, and Medicaid assistance at www.idhslink.com. The application for benefits process begins only when the customer delivers the completed form to their DHS local office. They may mail it, fax it, or personally bring it into the office that will serve them. In order to find the correct office, customers may use the DHS Office Locator at www.dhs.state.il.us/officeLocator/.
